Marvin Lewis: "Ocho Cinco, Callate!"

Chad Johnson does not want to play with the Cincinnati Bengals under head coach Marvin Lewis but it does not look like Ocho Cinco has a choice.

Lewis is not hearing that mess and wants Johnson to know that he will play with the Bengals, or no one. Johnson recently said that he would retire if he was not traded.
Lewis goes on to say:
"We've been dealing with this inside for over a year and we'll be prepared to move on," Lewis said. "He has a contract through 2011. If he plays NFL football it will be in Cincinnati, or he has to do what he says and that's retire. That would be a shame. We'll do everything we can to help him out of this and try to restore his image.
"Unfortunately Chad put himself in that situation. A lot of people who really had an affection for him fan-wise and people around the league see him in a different light and that's unfortunate. Some of the things he's gone on record and said one way or the other he's going to have to deal with them one way or the other. ... He's said he's probably going to sit out. I think you've got to own up and do it. Hopefully he'll do what Kobe Bryant did this year. He had a very accomplished season (after his trade demands). The Cincinnati Bengals hold the cards through the 2011 season."

Bravo to Lewis for not backing down from the demands from a spoiled wide receiver. This broken record of pro athletes demanding trades "or else," got old the day it was invented.

Other Bengals' players have not come out against Lewis, so the problem must lie in Johnson's gold grill that does not stop moving.

Let this punk retire, he promised "unbelievable" touchdown celebrations last season only to let the public down.
Pull out your prank HOF jacket, Chad. That is the closest you are going to get to having one of them.

I used to like the dude too.

Send Some Trash Talk

Chad Johnson is never short on words (unless he gets hit hard), and you can direct his trash talk towards your friends or family using his website, www.trashtalk85.com.

The website allows you to use Ocho Cinco to trash talk about any team of your liking, with your and your friend's name included in the message. You can also enter their hobbies and occupation.

The terms call for no cell phone numbers to be entered, which makes sense because it would cost your pal minutes on their bill. I refrained from doing so to keep from getting someone upset (a KC fan *cough*).

I would send it to someone's house phone, but the only people I know that have land lines active are my grandparents. It runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific Time. I will be sending myself one tomorrow.

Try it!

Monday Night Football - Week 1

Monday Night Football just concluded for the evening and both games were highly entertaining. But as I said before, high disappointment regarding Chad Johnson's TD dance in the 27-20 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.

In a rehearsed dance, Johnson ran to the sidelines where he quickly threw on an oversized replica NFL hall of fame jacket. That was it?!?! Where are the dance moves? This is not fashion class, we want to see the dance moves. I could have blown the world away in primetime with my famous "bunny" dance. Ocho Cinco, call me, I can give you some dance lessons.

The Ravens had a chance to tie it at the end, but when you have the ball in Kyle Boller's hands what do you expect? Not that Steve McNair was much better, handing over four of the Ravens' six turnovers.

Alex Smith and the 49ers came through in the final minute to overcome the Arizona Cardinals in a 20-17 win. The game was not an offensive beauty, but was a good watch as each respective defensive squad played well. At one point the Cardinals had five penalties in eight plays, not good. Another crushing loss for the Cardinals, wish we had Dennis Green around for his post game comments.

And I actually preferred the second set of announcers on ESPN. The "Mike cubed" squad. It pains me to say that because I am a big Tony Kornheiser fan, and thought the addition of Ron Jaworski would make them the clear-cut better announcing squad for the night.

And finally, it was a sad day for Kevin Everett and his family yesterday, and things do not look to be getting better as of right now. It is unfortunate things like this happen in sports. Wish the best for Everett and his family.
