Maybe You Shouldn't Have Opened Your Mouth

Remember Paul Pierce's claim that he was a better player than Kobe over the past summer?

Can the NBA and Boston Celtics (perhaps it's possible in Beantown?) fans see through the BS that was coming out of Pierce's mouth over the summer?

In a time that the Celtics needed more production, Pierce didn't step up his game. For the long stretch that Kevin Garnett was out, Feb. 22 through March 18, Pierce averaged 22.8 points per contest. Think Kobe would let his average dip to that low if Pau Gasol went out?

Kobe Bryant is averaging 27.2PPG to Pierce's 20.3, and doing so at a higher percentage, .465 (compared to Pierce's .453). Maybe Pierce started to taste the double and sometimes triple-team coverage that Bryant faces every game on the hardwood.

Or maybe Pierce was still not fully recovered from his wheelchair-inducing "injury." Or perhaps, we blame it on the media for holding in Pierce in such high regard after his NBA Finals performance. (We've seen that before with Dwayne Wade, although, Flash has risen back to that Finals form).

It's just becoming extremely quiet from the Pierce camp after trying to convince the world he is the best player in the world. Sad thing for Pierce is that he isn't even the third best player in his conference.

Weekly Lazy Entry

This week I introduce to you: Lazy Entry.

I find gems to write about throughout the week, but sometimes do not get around to getting them up on the blog. That saddens me. I have bookmarks on the stories and eventually delete the bookmark because they become irrelevant.

Well, the weekly lazy entry will be brought to you with brief descriptions and links to the stories that I found during the week which are funny, insightful, and ridiculous. I know I probably will not get it, but if you are out there let me know what you think about this idea.

Now enjoy:

- Dwayne Wade compared ending the Miami Heat losing streak to losing his virginity. (mp3 link)

- The Boston Globe are so confident that the Patriots are winning Super Bowl XLII, that they already have a book about the Pats perfect season on Amazon.com. Can anyone say jinx? Silly Bostonians. Wicked pissah!

- The Borat "mankini" has been outlawed from rugby matches by New Zealand cops. It is to protect children and families from seeing the hotness of the "mankini." I want to do a romance inside of you, high five!

- A 92-year-old man shot a hole-in-one in Florida on January 10. Pretty impressive. That is not the best part. The dude did it even though he is legally blind. Very impressive. I love old people.

- Howard University has, or soon-to-be had, a perverted and sick head soccer coach. The coach, Joseph Okoh, used the internet to try and pick up a 13-year-old for sexual purposes. Chris Hansen better have a talk with that dude. Gross.

- Andy Pettite is sick of hearing Roger Clemens lie and may rat out his former teammate. Shoot, I would do the same if was a bigger man by admitting the use of HGH and the dude that did it alongside me (allegedly) denied it.

Just Copying Big Brother

If the rumors are true like they are being reported from numerous sources in Miami, then Miami Heat superstar Dwayne Wade is splitting from his wife. This comes just weeks after teammate and "big brother" Shaquille O'Neal filed for divorce from his wife Shaunie.

These guys are going to take Miami Beach by storm; the groupies are lining up as we speak to get a chance to gold dig get a piece of the two stars.

You know Shaq had to give Wade a little nudge:
"Yo Flash, we can rule Miami like no other if we were both single. There are no other superstars in this town, lets do this! Who is going to take all the babes, Trent Green? You want that to happen?"

Wade should date Rihanna, she is quite the looker.

*Update: it appears that Wade may be dating actress Gabrielle Union. I would still take Rihanna though.
